Currently importing and exporting a course is monolithic – it only operates on the entire course, which can be large and unwieldy. Partial import and export would allow precision edits, and content reuse below the level of a course.
If this were combined with an API for import and export, it would be possible to integrate with external content editors.
@pdpinch can’t content libraries solve this?
It would require some development to improve its capacities (allow to include whole units/sections from a library, and/or selectively tagged content), but that might potentially be a good option for this.
Unless you see an interest specifically in supporting external content editors @pdpinch?
Totally agree. We already have customers that want to import/export parts of the course.
